  • Retro's been more than helpful when I visited and have also picked up some new bars free of charge. Can't see what the fuss is about.

  • Second that.

Got an awesome set of wheels from him, and he was kind enough to offer his tools for me and a friend to use as we live near(ish).

  • Dont see why Retro is getting slated for posting a totally relevant thread in the "classified" section of on a public uncensored forum?

Two months ago people were posting wanted ads for track frames now Retro is getting blasted for putting this up for sale? I also dont recall seeing anything about it being compulsory to subscribe to other threads when i signed up, and maybe if your like me and relatively new to this you dont want to be lambasted for asking what may seem like "stupid questions". Certainly the attitude on these forums has often intimidated new comers that i have met through buying off the classifieds and has even put me off attending "drinks" or other events in fear of being ignored for not being part of the "clique".

Good on your Retro for not being perturbed by the irrelavant comments and acting in a gentlemanly fashion, sad news things did nt work, good luck with the sale.

  • Stunning Frame! So wish I had the cash to burn... Go on Crispin Glover - you know you want it!

p.s. not sure what all the fuss is - ain't this the section for buying and selling??

    mullerbugs,
there are no cliques on this forum, (well not many) if you come out to one of the myriad drinks that are conveniently located in the four main corners of london, you'd see this fairly clearly. People on here are fairly passionate about this internet place as we feel it is special, unique, almost in that many of us have been out on rides (something I urge you to do, if you haven't signed up for the bridges on the 15th you should), attend drinks, and generally know more about each other than most other forums, so there is more camraderie here, and a desire to protect what is ours, Dogsballs is slightly more vociferous in this, in this case, than others are. But there is a general feeling that people who sell on here, should engage in the forum banter and ethos, rather than seeing this as another place to sell their wares.
I should just say that I personally have no issue with retro di corsa selling on here, as the testimonals above attest he's a valued part of the forum and community, and I hope he comes out for the bridges ride to engage in more good fellow cycling feeling.

So to end mullerbugs, come out on a ride, attend a drink, and you'll discover our internet bark is much worse than our bite, and if your afraid of posting a stupid question, then it just means you haven't searched hard enough on the site for the answer.

  • Thanks again for the +ve support an' that, have to say everyone I've met personally from the forum have been top guys, and hope to meet more. My weekend participation hampered by part time care of 2 small boys - however hard I work them on the turbo after school they still can't keep up on the road. They both ride single speed tho'. Irony is that the frame's not even mine and I'm not making a penny out of it, offered to sell it in London for a guy out of town who bought a cheap frame off me. This is what you get for doing favours! Anyway, look forward to meeting more of you at a drinks sometime soon. Cheers...

  • it's just funny how people come on here to just sell stuff, but pretend not to.

Is it or is it not a bicycle frame that appears quite suitable for fixed/ss use? Yes?
Has he posted it 13 times? No?
Is he advertising a shop? No?

It's not spam it's completely relevant. He's selling a fucking frame for fuck's sake!

Anyway, you are just bumping his ad so thanks for helping him out. Muppet.
And you MA3K, wtf? It's not like he's trying to flog a fucking car or can of snails..
You owe me cash/beer btw for that saddle, bitch :P
