What condition are the items in?

Almost all items in the sale are in a Near Perfect condition, any damage incurred was by water and silt from a local river combined with a period of damp storage conditions, this may have caused cosmetic water marking or some light corrosion on bare metals. All items have been fully inspected for damage and repackaged by ChainReactionCycles.com staff, You will not receive any of the original instructions or packaging. Items considered to have had excessive marking or damage have not been offered for sale.

Please Note that Due to the large volume of products on offer in the sale we are unable to provide individual details or pictures on how each item has been affected.

What if I’m not happy with my purchase?

  • Ha, already taken advantage, got the Shimano Ultegra threaded headset, touch!

  • How do you damage seatposts, cranks and headsets with water ?

  • How do you damage seatposts, cranks and headsets with water ?

    i was wondering this too...

  • packaging will be damaged, not the goods themselves, most likely.

  • yup

  • How do you damage seatposts, cranks and headsets with water ?

Rusty bearings if enough water gets in the wash the factory grease out of the headset, the other two, not so sure.

  • you'd need a jet wash to shift the bearing grease? not flood water?

  • Excellent that sorts the headset and seatpost for the missus.

  • according to uk law, they have to take it back and offer a full refund if you're not satisfied, so i think you can buy with relative confidence.

  • looks like the website is down?

  • Yes, it's hosed.

Seems like lots of people are having the same idea. When did they announce this sale?

  • PS they are adding stuff all the time; these are some red CK headsets up now

  • Arggghhhh....will have to try later on! the site is not loading.

  • it takes a while to get on the site but keep trying and eventually you'll get on it.

  • i got some bargains!!...

    £11!!

    30quid!

    £20!!

chuffed, all that for 60quid is a bargain and a half. i apparantly saved 130quid off rrp

  • you'd need a jet wash to shift the bearing grease? not flood water?

Exactly. I got some sealed bearing pedals. I'm not concerned about the flood damaged aspect. Most likely just have soggy packaging and tide marks.

  • DAMN! It's gone. I really want a layback post.

    Doh.

    Slight layback
    12 quid

  • £10 chaintool arrived. Mint.

  • I saw that and managed to grab some stuff, but hmm sounds a bit bulls**t this "flood sale" - was looking on cranks, for example, and only the 165mm versions were on sale.. why the 172.5 and 170mm ones didn't get wet?!

They are just trying to get rid of the old stock...
