  • What Ant said:

I saw this on another site yesterday.

    http://www.fenixtorch.co.uk/led_torches/lockblock.html

Just use the lockblock to attatch your torch to the front. Everyone needs a torch.

The Fenix torches are great but you don't get much run time on stun setting.

  • When my credit card is back in action after being cloned to buy shit, I will be getting one of these puppies.
$41 and bright as the sun...so say the mtb light-nerds on singletrackworld.

  • A couple of Hope Vision 1's left from this seller here. They seem to be sold out at a number of on-line retailers, and for some reason Totalcycling called me at about 10pm the other night to let me know that they'd have to refund my order. Them's late night workin' hours!

  • I just got:

it's bright, like a light, in the night

  • Re: the valve mounted lights..
I think there were some cheaper ones called TireFlys or similar.. plastic bodies.

  • got one of these

    http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/Cycle/7/Cateye_EL610_Single_Shot_Plus_Front_Light/5360031622/

it lasts for ages on a charge and is bright as fuck

  • I have a USE Joystick Maxx (ohh Matron!)
    http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/Cycle/7/Exposure_Joystick_MaXx_2_Wiggle_Front_Light/5360037879/ up front and:
    BLT Fantom XR9
    http://www.ukbikestore.co.uk/Product/-1/308400/ukbike/blt-fantom-xr9-rear-light--1-watt-superbright.html
    at the rear.
On unlit lanes I have drivers queuing up behind me, afraid to overtake the blinding red blob, and on-coming drivers screaming "Turn your f*****g main beam down".

So they may be pricey, but they work for me.

What bothers me about this is the fact that it is lithium and not just AA rechargables.

Well you certainly cannot argue with the reviews of the former, crikey! Do you fit yours on the bike or your head? And is it annoying having the lithium battery? How long have you had it, as I worry about those things dying altogether. Also how long have you found it has lasted with each charge?

  • What bothers me about this is the fact that it is lithium and not just AA rechargables.

You don't half worry a lot Paul. There are always pros and cons; just weight them up, choose and get on with it man! I look forward to a couple of weeks time when you are riding and enjoying it and a bit more relaxed. :)

I am just a sad anorak, thats all. I get too much pleasure reading this and that about everything under the sun. :)

In fact, I think my obsession over gear at present is that I'm simply frustrated I've not yet got the bike since all I want to do is ride. Not running is killing me.

  • My daily commute takes 1 hour 45 total. I use the Maxx in flash mode in town but switch to full power on the unlit 1/2 of my journey.
On the mid setting (designated: ride) the light burns for 10 hours, and I can't really think of an occasion where I will need that much light. Having said that for another 30 quid you can get an add on battery that just about doubles the burn time.
Charging is fast, 3 hours to 90%.
I have had it for just over a year noew and it has never missed a beat.
I fit it to my handlenbar.
All in all it is a (bit pricey) but top bit of kit.

  • Looks good from comments on other boards and cheap compared to dedicated bike setups.

  • I have this and it's truly blindingly bright, ask Skully!

i like this model and it looks better built than the version by niteize.

do you know if it will securely hold a maglite.
i reccomend the niteize maglite conversion kit. they are cheap and extend regular battery life times 5 or more

these products have nothing to do with me i have just found it useful myself.

  • Just spotted these at Universal cycles. (USofA)
    Looked neat.

  • Anybody know if Knog 'boomer' lights have hit the UK yet?

They are 1 watt, powerful rear lights. Finally a knog silicon light that'll match up to real lights!

  • Don't seem to. Look good though.

I know two things though - their catalogue is sexy (although someone forgot to select 'smallest file size' in Acrobat and seems to have stuck a pre-press version up):

    And I want a N.E.R.D.

  • Hey, don't want to spend too much but I'm looking for some badass lights to ride my bicycle with. Those MonkeyLectric lights look pretty dope but they're like £50... anyone got them? They'd be good as a joke / real fun. Might purchase the Knog Skink for the bum and some other rip-off (is it?) Knog one for the front.

    Any recommendations?

    Peace!

  • I have a recommendation, you may have it before: it concerns the search function. I used it once and found this, which I will share with you.

    http://www.londonfgss.com/thread10329.html

If you don't use the search function we will all go mad and start eating one another like in a zombie movie. You will probably be amongst the first eaten.

  • I did indeed use the search function - history is boring though

  • So is repeating it to noobs because they're too lazy to search.

  • oooooOOOooooo - That original post is over a year old, surely there's been some development in the lights industry since then? Albeit the later posts aren't of such a date, but still ;p

  • ^ seriously, don't be so arsey, it's not the way to get people on your side who might otherwise be willing to help you. Use the search, narrow down the questions you have and you'll find people more than happy to advise you.
