Indeed, let's hope it is a good thing. But remember that Obama is an American lawyer and you should never put too much hope in them.

Obama was a Civil Rights lawyer.

weird thing is i don't perceive him as black, to me he just has skin a bit darker than a white person.

What's a "black" person then? - I mean if not someone who 'just has skin a bit darker'?
