Don't worry, the 'O's got it, popular vote means nothing the EC system.
Oh I know but it's enough to give me some doubt. Actually looking through the current figures on the BBC McCain is ahead in quite a lot of partial complete states.
It's a bullshit system but it does make it quite exciting.

Obama takes McCain, in mouth in interatial, interpolictical, intereligion peace pipe shocker.

• #161
McCain is getting a right good shoeing !

I stand by what I said: you don't understand statistics.
Edited to add - I've watched a lot of allegedly smart people working for big financial institutions lose a fuck load of money because of naive assumptions in their modelling. I pointed it out to quite a few of them.
But yeah, I guess I'm just a lazy toss bag for not taking random numbers tossed around willy-nilly at face value.

Surely someone cares enough for the living?

I love the fear of seeing who gets to play around with the free world.

1 in 2 people could not give a fuck about this statement

Surely someone cares enough for the living?
Possibly so but my main concern (and hopefully the goal of the coming incumbent) is to simply make a better place for people such as you and me ?

One in three people can no longer give a fuck about this pointless thread.
I'm going to go and watch something important happen. G'night.

Yeah, smart people are idiots.
And you are right there is no possible way figures can be estimated for future events.
You win.

McCain is getting a right good shoeing !
Not really.
Obama - 9,923,701 - 49.6%
McCain - 9,903,323 - 49.5%But 175 v 61 in EC.
Luckily it's not a Prop Rep system as they'd be very close and the threat of McCain would be real. Never thought I'd prefer the EC system!

Mate I'm sorry, come back!
I'm just trying to fit in with the others at the start of this thread.
It doesn't suit me being a cunt, so what would you like to discuss?

VeraSun is the largest publicly traded U.S. ethanol producer, consuming about 5 percnt of the corn grown annually in the United States, according to court documents.
The South Dakota-based ethanol maker and 24 affiliates filed for bankruptcy protection on Friday, citing a severe liquidity crisis as fluctuations in the price of corn, natural gas and ethanol have hurt its ability to make debt payments, and it was unable to raise additional capital from the markets.
Sometimes, they are idiots, yes. I remember pointing out- for the day job, natch - that they were over-exposed to too narrow sections of the commodities markets and were carrying too much debt shortly after their IPO. But all the financiers said they'd print money because oil prices were only going up and corn was cheap.
C'est la vie.
edit to add - i was just taking issue with the idea that black people are doomed to jail. I don't think that statistics should be used that way.

The fucking Huguenots have taken Nevada !!
Based on what assumptions? What's your dataset? What're the correlation coefficients? What other variables have been tested for?
Because if it's based on drawing a straight line out of a previous trend, it probably doesn't take into account myriad other factors that probably will change by the time these 8 year-olds reach adolescence.
