Road ones are better for racing and training rides when there's little unclipping and walking, but the trade off for leisure riding wouldn't be worthwhile IMO
clipping in with Looks etc. is a bit harder when you're riding fixed, catching the pedal to flip it, unlike the piss ease of Time MTB pedals, Road cleats are a cunt, even just putting your foot down when getting off you can slide arse over
