I just got an old frame that had a load of rust on the top tube and a little in other areas. I have srubbed the frame and the rust off, but now the gloss (and I guess any coating) has now been removed. I am not bothered about a glossy finish appearance, and will not be repainting. But I do want to prevent rust. Would covering the paint stripped areas be enough, or will the whole frame need coating? Could that be a matte coating?
