  • tea breaks? tunnels? half time oranges?

"oo! time out! i have a hair in my eye!"

If anyone was going to call a time out because of frinjury, it would be you and your hazardous emo-sweep.

  • The time out during our game with Sitting Ducks was necessary (serious injury).

Think about how we play throw in games; someone gets injured, we stop until they're okay and then we start again. It's essentially a time-out and we don't limit how many times we do it in a game. Why would we not apply the same instinctual consideration and logic to league games?

Yeah, but what about the mechanicals? I don't like unnecessary rules, but I like arguments during games and mob rule even less.

    Priceless!

  • I don't personally mind time-outs in league games (read: so I'm vaguely for them). But if people feel strongly about it, I'm fine with them being banned (read: but I don't really care).

i can't recall a single occasion where a time out has effected a game...banning them is ludicrous! polo is going to a place that is of no interest to me.

I don't think timeouts are going to be banned from the league. I just disagree with anything that's not serious to interrupt the games. I really feel that timeouts should be up to the home team to allow or disallow. I think having allotted timeouts per team/ game could lead to strategic timeouts which are dull and boring.

Tournaments however should be a fairly strict no time out policy apart from serious injury. (Rob and Barnsey collision=time out, Dave's fucked hub=no time out in shoreditch, my bent chainring=no time out in Zurich)

Pick up games is and always have been a no time out agreement. Apart from serious/potential serious injury (Emilie's collarbone @ bricklane, me hitting the column last week in Peckham both = time out)

  • I think for tournaments time out rules need to be strict but league matches should be more relaxed. Just common sense rules. Have a time out if you need it.

  • Roxy i'm with you in this one, but let you know that comun sense, is the less comun of the senses

Yorgo actually scored the winning goal as I was busying myself with breaking my clavicle so no time out was needed. That said I suspect there would have been one if it wasn't the end of the game (I'd like to think so anyway).

  • Yeah, making rules which allot timeouts could mos def make the game a bit boring and stupid (if abused). I'm with you there. But if any one were to do that we'd boo them off the court.

  • that would be nearly as bad as throwing corgis.
