Remove the paint without removing the chrome?

I want to strip the awful purple spray paint of my frame. There is some chrome showing underneath the paint. If I'm using paint stripper to get the paint off will it mess up the chrome underneath?

i used nitromors on some chrome forks no problemo.

Yeah yeah! Search is my friend! I always search before posting my lame questions, so as not to get the inevitable "search is my friend" comment. I found lots O chrome threads but I missed that one!
