your sprocket and lockring are loose!
grease them and install them properly , tightly, before you strip the thread on the hub

Will take a look at them tonight, thanks

just take 'em to any bike mechanic/shop/helpful friend with a lockring tool+chainwhip
same thing with me yesterday (maybe caturday :P) takes 2 minutes to tighten -

I have a chainwhip and a lockring tool, (not sure if its the right fit though) will see tonight. I've blagged a lot of my lbs of late, so should probably actually buy something before I ask for more...

you can use your chain on your bike as a chain whip, I found a site that showed you how to do it with pictures step by step, after furious googling I cant find it so you are all subjected to my 5 year old drawings again! :D
Not for the faint hearted if you have a nice paint job, but you can just put a rag where the chain makes contact with the BB shell,My advice is not to turn the wheel too much, get the cog tight by pedaling as normal then set up as above and give it a quarter turn (or less) then tighten up the lock ring.
Or LBS ;)
Disclaimer: may contain peanuts, some assembly required, turning to much could end up with a stripped hub!

Bump
Just been reading up on this because I've had some slippage on and off since I bought my Plug in the summer. Slipped a fair bit when I first got it, but I didn't actually work out what it was until today when it slipped quite significantly on a harsh skid (thankfully just outside my house).
I think I will have to rotafix it, but I'm worried about stripping the thread...I'll never forget overtightening the crank on my old MTB and having to walk home with my left crank in my hand! Probably a stupid question but is there any way of knowing how much is too much? I don't want to overtighten it and then for it to be too late. Also after seeing the pictures on Sheldon I'm scared of losing a finger...
Cheers.
Watcha, I need a bit of advice, am a bit cack with bike maintenance and want to make sure I'm not missing something.
When I try to lock the back wheel on my charge plug it feels like it slips. Not in a pleasantly controlled skidding way, but in a "the pedals aren't moving, but the back wheel is" way. When I then try to acelerate hard it slips back.
I kind of assumed it was the rear bolts, so tightened them, any tighter seems to slow down the wheel when I give it a spin.
Any thoughts of what the issue is and how to fix it? My brain isn't mechanically minded at the best of times and I just can't get my head around it on a monday morning....
Oh, and anyone know of a likely place to get a 4mm x 12mm pawl spring (for a campag freewheel)
Happy Monday
