• #113
any ideas what bike this is?
-
• #114
Whats with the one bolt on the right side of the fork? It's gonna look mighty nice once it painted all purdy like.
-
• #115
thats for attaching a light.
nice lugs but youl need to do alot of work to get that nice.

yeh, ive sanded down half the bike now, im going to finish that tomorrow and maybe give it a white primer coat to protect it in the mean time, i havent decided on a colour yet, im thinking white or like a cream colour so i can get brown leather bits...saddle and bar tape, i think im going to try keep the bike quite traditional except for the rims. the stem is still seized into the forks though, to get them off the bike i had to hack saw the stem off so theres a tube stuck inside the forks now that need knocking out from underneath.
i will post more pics up when the bike is sanded down and ready for painting. oh an i cut and filed down the brake line guides and pump mounts etc, i want to keep the bike clean and very minimalistic...
still does anyone have any ide what the bike is?

Keep us updated, curious to see how it turns out? Take your time.
-
• #118
it has some initials and then says something like ashworth i think, but it looks longer than that.
W.F.Holdsworth?
and it doesnt say anything on the bb
No stamped serial number.. check the rear dropouts too.
-
• #119
after i wire brushed the underside of the bb housing the serial number was revealed, i didnt note it down though. i will have a look tomorrow.
-
• #120

You're welcome - happy days!
My first road bike was a holdsworth. (Just 2 years ago.) -

See if your new company belong to the cycle2work scheme. That way you could spread the cost of a new OTP.

How lucky is that? That's the sort of thing I go to the local tip looking for never to find anything!
Good luck with the build and keep us updated please. Just use this same thread. Cheers -

k so ive been sanding for like 6 hours and this is where im at now, do you think i should sand more, im going to get the piant from the tight bits in the bb etc but apart from that its almost ready to be primed....
there ya go.
-
• #125
You've really put some effort into that.
Once you've primed it, use a small amount of filler to smooth out some of the pitting, lightly sand again, then another coat of primer.I bought an old frame that had been resprayed and it look atrocious because it hadn't been prepared properly before painting. It would be a shame to see your work go to waste because of a bad paint job.
Good luck.
well on the frame where the stickers used to be you can slightly see a name, it has some initials and then says something like ashworth i think, but it looks longer than that. and it doesnt say anything on the bb
