if you can't get regs or anything, all you have to do left is to HTFU and remember to take regs next time, weren't there any witnesses seeing the incident?
had similar incident last month, polish white van smash against my rear wheel send me flying onto the tarmac, didn't get numberplate but gave police description of the said vans (especially since it got a polish flag on the numberplate, shouldn't be hard to find a polish ford transit in London), torn my ligaments on my wrist and lockring came undone shredding my hubs.
ah well, live and learn.
