  • refuse to pay a repair shop for the time spent trying to repair a mic that they haven't repaired?

Three times they thought it was done but when I take my mini disc and trial it the issue is still there. They sell the same mic in store but for over double what I paid for mine, so I don't wanna knock the repair cost off the price of their new ones as I'm loosing out.
Should I give a 25% of the repair to them for time spent or insist I'm not paying for failure?

PS how do I neg rep folk here?

  • why would u want to neg rep someone on here lol

yeah you can refuse to pay as they have not provided the goods or sevice you are supposed to be paying for.

  • Add reputation. I disaprove.

  • Mate, they should tell you if they can repair or not when you leave it. If they have any doubt, they should say so, and that you will have to pay a small fee anyway. If not, don't pay if they haven't done the job properly.

Who ya neg repping? I can guess....

  • I guess you have the neg rep cannon on standby to "pew-pew!" any useless replies?
click on 'add to reputation' next to the green boxes, then select 'disapprove' or whatever.
    (commencing noncommital dancing.)

  • Right now I sit here wearing a bling ring stroking my Siamese cat (no euphemisms) seeking to reap a terrible revenge on those that have wronged me!!! Mwaahahahahaa
Shit my mum's coming up! Hold on....

  • if they are not repair don't pay a penny.

i have to ask, is it actually a fault with the mic or the mini-disc?

  • They charged for a service they did not provide. You shouldn't need to pay.

  • ...sorry hahahahahahahahahahahah

  • the fault is definitely with the mic and not the player.
I guess I feel a little...guilt/compassion for all of their efforts to then say gimme all my money back...

  • If someone offered to sell you a new mic, offered great service. Kept you updated as to where it was and when it would be in. Then when you went to collect it it wasn't there! You wouldn't pay.

As such, same goes for the repair. Don't pay!

  • Don't pay. As it stands it's not so much a repair shop is it? More a fiddle-about shop.

You didn't go in and ask them to "keep this for a couple of weeks then give it me back just as it is, please" did you?

  • fair point.
