Rolling to the Stones

good morning chaps,

i know that you travelled at night, and one article talked of the A30, i was wondering if on the way back, you used a quiter route. i work in salisbury and was thinking of visiting my sister in slough. there is a route along the kennet and avon canal way, but it adds a few miles i believe. any quiet route info would be much appreciated, i will be travelling during daylight hours.
