i did mine the other day, but didn't read that lot.
i had trouble getting the end caps off first, but just hit the axle with a hammer and it came loose. you do have to bang them out as they are quite tight. -
• #83
Yeah have hit it quite a bit but nothings budging.... im a bit scared of hitting it too hard because all that cant be good for the wheel...
-

screw the axle bolts in a bit too, i used them instead of hitting the alu axle. don't be shy. support it up on books with enough room for the bearings to come out the bottom.

yeah, need a decent whack but then they pop out :)

I just got a pair of raw silver unetched Goldtech hubs in the post after I asked them if it was possible.
They are now considering regularly making them in silver in addition to pewter and black.

they will sell loads of those.

pewter or black + caustic soda + polish = shiny silver
-
• #89
weren't the original ones silver? RPMs old old ones look much more silver that pewter.

Didn't read the original thread... I'd still go for them though...
Yeah, I would too.
I don't see how you'd feel any difference to be fair. It's just buried too deep in the bike... not like new contact points or whatever.
