the doctor called you a retard??
haha. -

Yeh I've heard bad things e.g. broken hips resulting from the same. But where else would you put an Abus? (unless you've got a nice courier bag, which I have not).

keep my lock in my bag

And WTF is a Fabric Hoarse??

You could as easily crash and land on your bag and do similar damage. It's an occupational hazard I think.
Hope you recover quickly - painful kidneys are no laughing matter.

Me too...
although I do find i hard to lock up my bike when you are not around :-)

i've heard sories of nasty injuries from locks round waists as well. Best to get a nice d lock holder fitted to your frame.

Mouse is talking about the wearing Abus round the waist, which I do..
The one time I fell onto it - it saved my hip from lots of scratches.. perhaps I should wear it doubled up round my neck though?I thought the holsters hold it quite low on your back? Still, this is unfortunate news - I hope your kidney gets better soon OP.

I agree with the "occupational hazard" theory!
What are the options unless you get one of those "oh so stylish" frame mounts or stuff it in your already overloaded bag?
I trust your kidney is recovering and actually I am bemused as to how your lock impacted on your kidney when the Fabric Horse holsters hang off your belt. -

And WTF is a Fabric Hoarse??
It was the trojans first less well know attempt to enter a city under siege.

Unless your stopping and starting a lot (or don't have a bag) I don't see the point of keeping your mini lock strapped to your hip. It's not exactly too big for a bag.
I see the convenience but also see a 'trend' in it.Keys too. Though I'm a culprit of that and have suffered the pain...

Alas, their coughing gave them away.

I had a fabric hoarse, I loved and I used it loads. Until last week when I had a crash.
I was turning left at some speed, however when I had got about half way round the corner I realized that there was a white van on the wrong side of the road trying to overtake another car.
This left me with no option but to corner harder to the left or go straight into the van.
Physics would not allow this though and I came off. I landed on my lock onto my hip and kidney. This was the most painful thing ever. More painful than when I broke my nose.
My hip had the usual bruising etc.. which has almost gone now but my kidney is still about twice its normal size and still fu**ing painful.
According to the doctor guy I saw the kidney is one of the most delicate parts of the body and I am a retard for keeping my lock there.
