Spoke to the head office of the bike shop- they said that it might, just possibly, be a manufacturing fault.
However they would have to send the pedals to Time's UK importer to see if they would honour a replacement, which would take around 25/30 working days.
He pointed out that I would have to buy another pair to use during that period- if of course I wanted to be able to use the bike whilst Time deliberated.
I'm now feeling fairly unhappy with my original decision to buy Time pedals.
