But remember there was a scuffle on the line, where Bucky "the egg" Fellowes was allegedly "tripped" by some of the spectators (Evans' mother and two cousins).
Pictures of the race clearly show Fellowes in the lead by several yards before the incident took place. The judges deemed it unnecessary to re-start the race as, to quote Big Bill Tully, the race referee, "it was only a bit of fun, mate"
