No shame in having a front brake.
Agree with Teenslain and Hippy (damn, never thought I'd say that!)re: 105's. And they are very good value for money.
I wanted a black brake. Loved the look of the Mavics, but also only came in pairs and pretty expensive. So went for a 105. Never had a problem with them.
