  • Alright, who else failed theirs? Is it just me? Anyone else remember the signals for slowing down, stopping, etc.? Great stuff!

It is 18 years on, and the emotional scar still hasn't healed...

  • Shouldn't this be in the epic fail/confessions thread!

  • the only one i can remember which is of any use is...

  • My brother failed his. We still take the piss.

    Loser.

  • I passed mine but my bike failed it's MOT (performed by Mr Leach, the CDT/PE teacher) due to having brakes that did not pass muster!

  • was never allowed to do it cos of bike fail. twice. i got my 10m swimming certificate though so am not sweating it.

  • It's not a confession, it's more to do with psychological trauma and unresolved childhood issues. I imagine that none of my friends who passed even have a bike, let alone ride one now!

  • I failed my sexual proficiency test the first time round, but like a true fighter I kept on trying. Hopefully by this time next year I'll get by level one badge (one orgasm per sex session). I really want to get up to level three (three orgasms per sex session) with in the next five or six years. If I achieve this I may consider summiting my application for chartered status, but that's a long way in the future.

  • Your mum, etc. Someone was going to say it, might as well get it over with.

  • No I haven't had a ago on your mum yet, she's the examiner for the level one badge. Next year.

  • Wear appropriate safety clothing. Safety first!

  • I just found my badge:

    it's 26 years old!!

and quite small, that's 1p next to it.

  • If that's your idea of trying to help, then let me tell you, Mister- you're not!

  • not too late for a re-take dude..

    banish dem demons

  • You're absolutely right. If I can get an 'E' in GCSE art, I can do ANYTHING!

  • My art teacher hated me so much she banned me from doing art GCSE. I once go so sick of her I pretended to loose my voice just so I didn't have to speak to her.

  • it's funny though..

obviously failing the test didn't mean you couldn't ride

only one kid in our class failed, if I remember..he was really, really thick.

but what's the point ? you get a badge and keep riding if you pass, don't get a badge but keep riding if you fail.

FWIW, this is the first time in 26 years the badge has been any use.

    CPT FAIL

  • I sooooo want a cycling proficiency badge.

  • Dunno where mine is, saw it once a few years ago? Must also be about 26 years ago!! Same badge.
Did I read correctly in one of the free papers they want to bring the test back as compulsory to londoners? Was also talk of a tax!

  • I'm pretty sure that if anyone in London actually did what they teach you to do on the course, they'd be squashed fairly quickly.

I did the CBT and full license test for motorbike about 6 years ago, and I reckon just about everyone I've ridden behind on a bike in London should learn what a lifesaver is.

  • just about everyone I've ridden behind on a bike in London should learn what a lifesaver is.

to begin with they should also try to actually look at things in the road, instead of doing the "head straight forward, glazed expression, eyes open but not seeing" thing that so many seem to do.

  • RPM - how the hell did you find that? Do you keep it on your 'medals and badges' shelf?

  • Here's mine, it's nearly six months old !

  • I took an E in GCSE art. fucking blinding lesson!

  • HAHA @ TYNAN

took me while to spot that!
