this sounds like the one me and El Squire dealt with the other day (a sugino). We undid the lock ring on the other side, slipped the axel out(?)(am i remembering this properly?). Reached through, took the bearing crown out, and as everything was loosened up from the other side, we managed to loosen it out by hand...

For Christ's sake if you're using an open ended spanner don't bloody slip it off the cup while you're tightening it up, it'll make a right mess of the appearance. If you can get your hands on one of these you'll have no worries:
Jeez, even Campy BB's are sweet to look at :0)

^ I've got one of those. It makes installation much easier. There's less risk of a slip, which is important because that fixed cup has to go on TIGHT. Kinder on your paintwork too. :-)
The green-handled Park pin spanner will do (half) the job on the adjustable side. It's cheaper than the double-ended, forged thing.
In a ideal world - a place where people aren't impatient to install things :-) - you'd get a Campag lockring tool as well. My BB lockring is all chewed up because even though the Park tool works, it's not totally snug.
