  • When I read this I instantly thought of a Nazi uniform ala Prince Harry.

As an afterthought did the Nazi's ride singlespeed, geared or fixed?

Single-speed, as you can see to your <left our glorious leader is freewheeling in the famous Raphassen Velodrome of Berlin, front and rear derailleurs were outlawed as they'd been traditionally used by Mohels for circumcision ceremonies. Some dissenters from the SS, notably Karl Schizen-sturer, started riding fixed towards the final days of Hitler's reign as a thinly veiled snub, highlighting Hitler's diminishing control over his elite. Rumour has it that in a fit of rage Hitler set one of his beloved Alsatians, Fluffy, on Schizen-sturer who was practicing skids directly outside The Fuhrer's bunker.

Schizen-sturer survived the attack, managing to escape with just the loss of the seat of his trousers. This was possibly the final straw for a beleaguered Fuhrer who, retiring to his bunker, shot himself and Eva Braun (a remarkably hirsute woman, invented the electronic razor) shortly after.

Hope that clears things up for you.
