No. I routinely buy low on eBay, sometimes with the intent to sell high to cover costs.
And only slurge when I have to.
Usually evens out.
no need to splurge, thats whats good about ebay ;) -

Dude with a beard, lives in Hackney Wick, don't think he is on here. Knows F* all about bikes as far as I could tell from my brief conversation with him. Not sure where he get all his stuff, although I would like to know.
Nah - he lives on Mare Street, no beard - I went to see him when he had a San Marco for sale a few months back. Seems like a very nice guy, talked in vague terms about knowing lots of 'old boys' from whom he acquires his frames...

it's a Max Power van, look how low it is! might be a bit of a problem if you were to go on gravel in order to reach your destination.
my advice? get a Toyota Picnic, very cheap, very reliable and roomy.

yeah that particular one is probably a bit too boy racer for my tastes for me to put my money where my mouth is, but a newer vw certainly does appeal

Who is Rancho Relaxo (person selling the Katakura)? She/he has been selling some lovely stuff recently. Forumenger?
Whoever it is, they won't answer my emails. Then again, they must get tons of questions & offers for the frames they put up.

i'd ask for close up photo of that bit under the top tube near the seat post ;)
has the messiest rear drops i've seen, yuk! no filing back at all :(
Have another look, I asked for photos of the seattube lug, looks nice :)
Someone said it could be a Legnano, but De Bernardi frames used to be made in the Legnano factory..

mmm, seat post binder bolt under the top tube, never seen that. looks like the bike may be completely chromed, which makes it heavy. it is also chipped to fuck. so you may have to factor in a respray. 50/50 -
