the thing is...people still think this fixed gear thing makes them an individual, they're scared of others coming along and stealing it from them. They want to keep it all for themselves.

so when new people come along (like yourself) people do what they can to scare them off hoping that they'll throw their 'fixie' in a skip and move on to the next trend.

this is actually a quite tight knit bunch of people, those who give and receive the most abuse tend to be good friends who socialise on a regular basis

when i first joined i posted some dumb questions, got flamed etc

i then went to drinks etc so they could discover how cuntiferous i am and they could then abuse me accordingly

turn up to drinks or one of the social activities and meet some people. there is a high degree of pisstaking banter here, though it probably works best when you have some faces to the names

also it seems that people from Birmingham get special treatment (you, fanny and jimjams) though am not quite sure why
