I think this says a lot about how easy to think you're OK and with friends, but as soon as you lose them (which I seem to do every time I'm pissed as a wizard, riding around, with people off here) then suddenly you're pretty ffing vulnerable, especially if you're near that blackout state.
Sorry to hear you lost all your gear, as well as the bike, too. Hope my earlier piss taking wasn't hurtful, I really do, you must be feeling pretty bad.
