can you recommend any good road wheelsets...

They are fine on the road, no braking surface though unless you don't need one of course.
Not sure how you are measuring performance but a set of Open Pros on Miche hubs would be as good as Pistards (weight, strength etc,. if not better) and similar price. -

goldtec on openpro's built by goldtec or by condor

thought you have to look after them a bit don't you? since the wheel is designed to be inside in the dry?

I've been using a set of navigator pistas on the road for around 9 month and have not had single a problem with them. I'm only running the rear at the moment as I need a braking surface in the rain or stopping is a bit hairy. good wheels for the price i'd say.

Is anyone running these with a front brake on the road? I'm guessing they'd be fine unless it was really wet?

How did you get on with those wheels dude? Are they kosher for road use as well as track?

I bought a set second hand Navigators, tubulars, in very good condition.
Also a new set of Miche Pistard, clincher, new. When I had to do it again, I would buy the Navigators instead of the Miche.
Rim looks a bit better, because it doesn't have a wear line.
Hubs feel at least as good as Miche, perhaps even better.
DB spokes instead of plain spokes. -

Miche Pistard rims are excessively heavy.. Avoid the wheelset

I bought a set a while back and was worried about riding them on the road being 15 stone with a tendency to be a bit rough on wheels. 6 months of use (back wheel only up to now though) and I'm well impressed. They are super light, threaded on both sides (which have not stripped like other wheels I have had) and perfectly strong enough for 'normal' riding. I got mine for cheap but even full price is worth it.
as there arent any miche pistard clinchers instock anywhere, how are the navigator pistas? are they better or should i wait until some miche come available?
are there any other similar wheelsets in the same price range/performance?
thanks.
