Thanks to Eggpie for a great tournament, in unpromising circumstances.

My congratulations to the winners, and my commiserations to DTGP - came all that way and only played one game. Sorry, guys.
I know that we were in involved in a great game with DTGP, but I can't remember too much about it, apart from Mike sorting me out a wheel after I put my mallet through mine (I got home ok on the ruined one - 5 spokes gone!). Thanks a whole bunch for that!!!
A couple of things stuck in my mind from the day, apart from the rain, and the dedication to fun to that those who stuck out the weather showed:
After we won our game with the french guys, Rik said to me 'I started riding fixed 3 months, polo 2 months ago, now I am playing in the semi-finals - it's a dream' - make sure you say that sentence out loud, rolling the rrrs!
After we got beat by Zombie RMY, Mike said to me, as we were coming off the court 'not bad for a drunk guy'.
Don't know why those two comments stuck with me, perhaps they summed up the day well!
And of course, the other thing that stuck with me was the tension and excitement in the crowd towards the end of the game with DTGP. I really felt that on the court! Tournaments are brilliant!
