FInal Cut needed Desperately Now!

Posted on
  • Hi ALL.
A movie for tonights screening at Barbican has been FTP'd to us and its in two files. Does anyone have access to FINAL CUT so we can download and sync it for tonights screening??
Plesae call Laura on 0780 474 1467 if you can help out :)

Clearly the BFF would be indebted to you MASSIVELY

  • So you have a part 1 and part 2 that need fusing into one clip?

With little effort you can join two video files just using Quicktime Player. It may need to be the pro version for this to work.

    Do it like this:

1 Press on your '2nd part' clip to activate the window.

    2 Edit>Select all

    3 Edit>Copy

4 Press on your '1st part' clip to activate the window.

5 Move the play back head of the '1st part' clip to the very end.

    6 Edit>Paste

7 The '2nd part' clip should be placed into the '1st part' movie.

    8 File>Save as… self contained movie.

If it does not play through the edit smoothly due to the content of the clips you may need to find Final Cut instead to edit and smooth it out the join.

Tika has sorted it for us.. she kicked it on the rollers last night and now is saving the day ;)
I am buying the lady a beer or two tonight ;)
THANK you all, again... see you at the barbican / polo / parties etc.,

  • Velocityboy - this thread can be closed now ;)

OK, you have it sorted. But for future reference the "Edit>Add to movie" command can take a audio track and add it to an existing movie. All inside Quicktime player too!

Listen to Mr Wish, he speak-a-de-truth.

You can do all this and more with a stolen* copy of QTPro.

    ** also available for sale.*
