  • he's got such a winning smile!

Laura looked the fucking bomb last night.

here's my fave from the night, the fastest man of the night (on/with rollers):

  • isn't it obvious?...I'm only in two shots..and out of focus!...I lost count of the initmate, affectionate, studied portraits of my smiling rolla-partner.

  • Poor Winston. I'll pay for a photographic escort for your next press night if you like.
Some one with a tight body and beautiful eyes?

Now where did I put Arsen_Design's phone number?

  • sorry Winston. OK, Friday, night, 'palluza central, you're my bitch*. Ok?

    • and then Objects, and then Caspar can have what's left.
  • I have a spare ticket for "Les Ninjas du Japon + Pantani e 'Le Tour de France'" tonight. Apparenty Francis Bacon is showing some of his stuff off down at an old sugar factory.

Anyway, anyone who wants a free ticket, let me know.

Dr. Chang, I know how much you like these cycling movies, so come on, knock your bad self out.

Also, I love the idea of this festival, so more power to your elbow all involved.

  • great shots fred and good to meet you on the night. Here's my efforts on the pics

  • Two days in and the BFF is fuking rocking. Thank you so much, everyone that has helped so far, there is no we we could do it without you.
We are looking for some more volunteers for today and tomorrow, please get in contact with me via phone as I am running around most days and not at the computer. its 0780 474 1467.

  • chatting to someone last night about this years BFF, it seems that things have been done too well and it's too big. losing the feeling of a festival for the cyclists by the cyclist and is out to cash in on the cycle craze ie rapha mail-out and sell-out of, sunday in hell.

  • oi yea. it is growing, and its amazing and terrifying. We the entire BFF team truly love all the support from the community, so lets keep it true to its roots and the best way to do that is stay involved!!! please do let me know any feedback, ways to improve, things that were good, etc.

Paul and Farid, beautiful images. you gus are incredible!

  • Many people going along to the Rollapaluza at Carhartt warehouse tonight?

  • possibly

  • Really beautiful pics Paul, good job!

  • Really beautiful pics Paul, good job!

    screw you too, man

    :-P

  • ha, only just looked at yours Fred. They're ok I suppose ;-)

  • possibly

are you not concerned that rollapoluza are getting too successful and too professional?

  • are you not concerned that rollapoluza are getting too successful and too professional?
yes. the event at bloomsbury bowl was ridiculous.

Next years Bicycle Film Festival London is going to be held in Dales front room on a 14" colour tv,with a pack of Doritos and a bottle of coke....ya know...bringing cycling back where it belongs.

For someone so clever Dale, you can be fucking stupid sometimes!

The BFF is taking cycling out of the gutter where the majority of the population seem to think it belongs and running it straight down the middle of the fucking road!
This whole attitude of selling out is bollocks...it's that kind of attitude that causes cyclists to be seen as second class citizens.
Having the BFF in our city is an honour that no other city in the uk has...and the fact that these films made by cyclists for cyclists...mostly unknown directors, is being shown in a place as prolific as the Barbican only goes to show what a great job Laura,Brendt and everybody else involved has done.

There isn't a single other sport/pastime in the world that has it's own film festival....that makes me even more proud to call myself a cyclist.
What exactly is being 'sold out' here? Are you happy to have cyclists seen as a bunch of dirty low class people that just can't afford cars...and can't organize themselves.
Volunteers form a huge part of the festival....people who are just cyclists like you and me...getting involved and doing their part to help make it a success...if thats not 'for the cyclists' i don't know what is.

The BFF is HUGE....the amount of work,planning,organisation,phonecalls,stress..etc involved is unbelievable.
To some people, it may be just a few bike films...but look beyond that and it's a whole lot more...It's an actual 'Festival' ...it's a huge step forward in bringing cycling to the masses.

I feel proud to be involved even just as a sponsor and i hope that the BFF continues to grow with each year.

Instead of playing chinese whispers with people, maybe you should go along and find out for yourself what it's like...because i've had nothing but positive things to say about it so far.

I hope to see lots of you tonight at the Rolla...now back to the prizes!

    Rant over

  • Ya mo be there (up and over)

    +1

The fact that there're are nay-sayers is a sure sign that the BFF is doing something right - there's always an element of sniping regardless of what you're doing.

BFF08 is successful not just on it's own. It stands on the shoulders of every BFF event before it and across the world.

Thats the only way Laura can see anything..

  • does anyone have any idea when the early showing of the shorts will finish on saturday as the last train home to birmingham is just after half 9...

programme 6? Starts at 1900, I would guess done by 2030. Programme 7 is in the same theatre and starts at 2100.

why dont you call the barbican to be safe?

or better still, stay over and go to the polo!

  • Who's going down today then??

  • I went last night - great turnout and 3 good films. The Road to Roubaix was superb. Made me want to ride it (but hopefully that'll wear off).
