• chatting to someone last night about this years BFF, it seems that things have been done too well and it's too big. losing the feeling of a festival for the cyclists by the cyclist and is out to cash in on the cycle craze ie rapha mail-out and sell-out of, sunday in hell.

Next years Bicycle Film Festival London is going to be held in Dales front room on a 14" colour tv,with a pack of Doritos and a bottle of coke....ya know...bringing cycling back where it belongs.

For someone so clever Dale, you can be fucking stupid sometimes!

The BFF is taking cycling out of the gutter where the majority of the population seem to think it belongs and running it straight down the middle of the fucking road!
This whole attitude of selling out is bollocks...it's that kind of attitude that causes cyclists to be seen as second class citizens.
Having the BFF in our city is an honour that no other city in the uk has...and the fact that these films made by cyclists for cyclists...mostly unknown directors, is being shown in a place as prolific as the Barbican only goes to show what a great job Laura,Brendt and everybody else involved has done.

There isn't a single other sport/pastime in the world that has it's own film festival....that makes me even more proud to call myself a cyclist.
What exactly is being 'sold out' here? Are you happy to have cyclists seen as a bunch of dirty low class people that just can't afford cars...and can't organize themselves.
Volunteers form a huge part of the festival....people who are just cyclists like you and me...getting involved and doing their part to help make it a success...if thats not 'for the cyclists' i don't know what is.

The BFF is HUGE....the amount of work,planning,organisation,phonecalls,stress..etc involved is unbelievable.
To some people, it may be just a few bike films...but look beyond that and it's a whole lot more...It's an actual 'Festival' ...it's a huge step forward in bringing cycling to the masses.

I feel proud to be involved even just as a sponsor and i hope that the BFF continues to grow with each year.

Instead of playing chinese whispers with people, maybe you should go along and find out for yourself what it's like...because i've had nothing but positive things to say about it so far.

I hope to see lots of you tonight at the Rolla...now back to the prizes!

    Rant over
