Hang on a bloody minute...
I was wondering where the dint in the seat tube on my Mercian came from. I too tried this about a month ago when I was having massive problems with my cog unwinding and couldn't be bothered to wait for the right tools to arrive in the post.
Did it with a Fahgeddaboutit too.
Lesson learnt I believe...
