might do the Camino Santiago Compostela Pilgrimage next year. not that im religous or anything but with the scenery, food, company on offer, just can't say no! doing it with a spanish mate. he's not a speedy nor a strong cyclist, so we'll be taking it easy. going light as well, possibly just one rack as the plan is to sleep in albergues (cheap) or churches/convents (free!?).
dont have a bike for it yet, but would like to go singlespeed. well, depends on the route we take, the northern coast is mountainous. cant wait. never cycle toured before, so pretty excited about it. do i have to build a tourer?!? are touring bikes, complete with paniers, avail for hire?!? should be just a 3-4day trip. anyway, still a long way to go
Sounds wicked. It would depend on your required daily mileage. Did a bit in France over the summer on my fixed, 60 ish g.i it was fine, but we were in a flat area. Could not honk up the hills though had to stay sitting down as much as possible. I was carrying camping and cooking gear for two though plus my cloths in a rucksack, girlfriend just carried her cloths and the bike flight bag.
