  • I managed to throw a chain on Sunday, which jamed the rear hub and basically totally threaded the fixed side. I'm currently riding on the freewheel part, but I cannot figure out if I can just remove the freewheel and put a normal sprocket there. Does anyone know ?

All I could find on the hub is that it's threaded to accept a track cog and lockring on one side, threaded for a single-speed freewheel on the other.

  • You'll be able to run a suicide set-up*, that's all

i.e. The freewheel side of the hub is not double-stepped, so there is no place for the reverse threaded lockring which you have on the fixed side. Hence then "suicide".

  • Search for "suicide hub"

  • Damn you Tomasito.

  • Sorry honey.

    that's not so much fun.

  • ahh okies, well anything with suicide in it, probably a bad idea for me! will build a replacement hub/wheel then. Thanks!

  • Mate, you have no luck with bikes. I did the same but it didn't thread anything, just jammed my back wheel in the middle of a box junction - nice!
