• I had no offers made on my kit, and as I stated, I was open to offers.

Items were ended early as I'd found a buyer for the wheels, bars and stem and cranks locally and I thought as the items had not been bid up massively on ebay and there way still quite some time left I was OK to pull them. I sent apologetic emails to anyone who had placed a bid explaining the situation.

You had at least three people who were interested in making offers, but you'll find from a search/bit of forum knowledge that the worst thing you can do is post a whole host of stuff and then say the equivalent of 'go on - make me an offer'. You'll get people taking the piss making offers of 10p and plenty of people getting pissed off at not listing a guide price.

Here are a few good examples:

Whenever you list something - either on here or on eBay - you'll have a rough idea of what you want. List that and let people make you offers. It's then up to you to decide if you want to accept.

I haven't got a clue how much a couple of old Veloce wheels or Record shifters are worth. I'm not going to insult you by offering you a fiver for them.

Out of interest, how much did you get for that stuff? Most bids on eBay come in the last couple of hours. I would have put in a bid for the wheels and the crankset - and I would have put in a bid on the Ergos - either the Record ones or Mirage one - but I'm not going to now because of what you did. I'm sure other people will do the same. Fewer bidders = a lower price. It all adds up...
