Anyone know about prices for rare vinyl?

Why exactly do you want to know ?

Agree with JimJams that the RC price guide isn't great for the super-obscure stuff and the prices can be* way out * (great when you're doing some regional crate-digging!) but it might be OK for what Will's talkng about... Take your list into Foyle's, grab one off the shelf and plonk yourself on the floor with a pen for half an hour...

Dont be so sure... some of that old Stereolab is quite valuable, depending on what youve got. They put out so many damn singles on top of their albums that it would be difficult for me to know. Your best bet is checking a record collectors guide, or for the rarer stuff, check the specific bands forums.

But if you happen to have an old Gorilla Biscuits album called 'Start Today', and its on red or purple vinyl... goldmine.

I'd put it on Discogs. It's really simple and I just sold two records really quickly. The second Beta Band 12 for £35 and an Unkle album (cough) for £15 or something. It's easy to see what things are going for on there...

Cheers for the link. Got my Uncle's record collection he's left here (gone to the US) and told me to sell. Full of dub/ska/industrial stuff as far as I can work out. Some of it looks well rare but no idea how much it's worth and where to sell: was going to ebay it but this looks the better option
