Yes please, exactly what I'm after.
If you can grind the bits off too that'd be ace.

DAMMIT!!! why did I go to bed early!?!? seconds on the frame.

....well... you never know...

Hey thats meant to be my bike!!! If, in the unlikely event of the other three changing their minds can I have it?
-
• #6
Anyone else got anything like this knocking about?
-

Is this telling me £25 is a bit of a bargain? Don't push me to make this an auction... hehe
I bought this bike in Devon, and the guy has about 20 of old road frames turning into rust outside his house.
The town hasn't even got a train station, if anyone up for driving down with a van, I am happy to come with!!

Yes mate, its an old guy who has been doing bikes for 27 years, he is just about to retire.
I got my Dawes for £25, but I was eyeing some other frames as well... Do you have a car/ van?

Do you think you could pick up anything else if you do go down that way?

I don't drive, so it is down to someone taking me out there.

What's that disc wheel in the background? Is it for sale?

It'll be a car and full house (I'm afraid all bums in seats... not trying to put you off... it's true, the tow bar will be scraping the road all the way there). Might have to invest in some rent-a-roof-racks....

If you manage to get any of these frames back to london I might want one. (please)
-
• #17
This is back on the market if anyone's interested, still £25.
I've now got hold of another frame and can't really justify working on both.
The extras have been ground off with an angle grinder and could do with filing down to make it all neat and tidy.

Where bouts are you? I think i might take this off your hands.

Magic.
I'm in Stoke Newington.

Two questions though,
weight, is it a decent weight?
Rust, how bad is it? -
• #21
I just noticed I'd been sent a pm (6 days ago!?!) after I sent you a pm!?! Never mind, I don't think I would have much fun carrying that frame on my shoulder back to new cross anyway. Have fun with that bike Rosmal. Maybe you could post some pics when you've finished making it work. I would be interested to see what it turned out like.

Looks like rust is minimal (but you might want to strip & re-spray, after you file down rough bits), don't look too heavy either. Its a bargain!!! just out of curiosity, how tall are you Rosmal?
-
• #23
The rust is pretty superficial, looks like it could be easily dealt with after a good clean up and a bit of sanding, a bit more work will be needed where the parts have been ground off, probably using a file or a grinder if you're good with that kinda thing.
Not sure what to say weight wise, it doesn't feel too heavy but I know bugger all about what a heavy/light frame should feel like, apologies !!
More than welcome to come by and have a gander if you want.

It weights between 2.5 - 3 kgs, whoever gets this frame can bring it back to me, I now have some Auto Body Filler you can use and some files as well.

6"3/6"4, pretty hard finding a frame my size, but ive just found another frame, and im kinda stuck between the two.
Im sorry but im gonna have to give you a definite answer tomorrow alockett.
1980's Warwick touring frame from Dawes, 60cm some surface rust but can be easily sand down for a nice respray. I can use an anglegrider to cut off the lamp and lock welding if you desire.
Would be perfect for your winter beater.
