  • Bummer MA3K.. although I was actually thinking about staying in Rye since it was kinda late getting back. Thanks muchly for leading the ride man (I can't believe I navigated a couple of corners all by myself! ;-) Shows how good Sam's routes are. His missus must be happy.. tee hee)

    Pics?

  • I got real names but didn't make any forum name connections, who's who?

  • His missus must be happy.. tee hee)

No, not really. She never is.

Was gutted at missing out on a ride in the glorious sunshine so when I felt better (i.e. I put my butt plug back in) I went for a 28 mile fixed wheel spin on some of the roads of the Kent Cyclosportive. Maxed out at 37.9mph on 47x18, 184 RPM.

I'm glad to hear that it was a good day out. Pics now please!

  • I think if you had bought a ticket to London from the first station then train company should have paid for you to get home as it is the train company's fault the last train was missed not yours.

I found this as a bit of information on the subject.

  • Sue Sue Sue!!!!!

  • Sounds like a proper adventure MA3K...

In the meantime we got talking to a drunk dude on the train who's gonna dust down his Claud Butler and come and join us on Bridges ride*.

    *maybe

  • aaaah, he was sweet - you could tell he was really feeling regretful about not riding for twenty years...

hope the dude does dust that Majestic off and a whole new cycling era begins for him from meeting us last night!

  • hahaha!!!! awsome ride guys! may ass feels like a 12 year boys staying in micheal jacksons house though...ouch!
By far the hardest ride i've ever done, but also the most rewarding.
Great fun, Great company, and great sunset on the beach, cheers boys and girls!!!
    Bright times....Bright times.
    photos to follow tomorrow.

  • We need name tags..

  • ...or our forum names tatooed on our foreheads?

  • Who was down at the beach in that first group with you Hippy? I know jaygee was with you.. who else?

  • paul (dandy horse) was there with the front runners too. Mr Hillclimb himself.

  • I had white tires (racial) and grey shorts, FYI.

  • Crispin you have the starry arm tatts and winston's hair-piece, yeah? :)

  • Yeah, and a pair of plums tattooed on my nuts.

  • I'm still knackered, but what a day! Great to meet everyone and see some beautiful countryside, while shitting myself riding down hills too fast. Thanks again to the organisers.

(Special thanks to Assos chamois cream.)

  • Sticky Assos lube hands highfive! :D

  • It soothes the parts that saddles like to turn red raw.

  • I am a small Atlantic salmon and I will be wearing a ball gown whilst towing a midget and eating hot buttered popcorn.

Sorry I couldn't make it dude. Hope you got the rest of your look worked out.

  • Great ride everyone.

Good to meet new faces Turd=Aidan.

We may have got stuck over night but i think the general tiredness and sheer joke of calling taxi companies to find out how much it would be for four people and 'sports equipment' to get to London made it a proper adventure. Once we accepted we were screwed we indulged in the local atmosphere and culture, as Ma3k put it "we saw a tank and left". My advice is don't get stuck in Ashford it's not nearly as shite as people say it is. upside is the train cost £8 (which i will get to you this week John, we realized as soon as we were off the train)
Didn't make south drinks as i thought it would be a good idea to play knee wars (imagine tumb wars but with knees) with a friend and slightly injured myself. Hopefully i will catch you all again soon.
Geeza in the colmuns mustard jersey thank you for the light i think we would have had a slight problem coming back from the beech without it, if you PM me we'll work out a way of it getting back to you.
Cheers again everyone. Was a great day.

  • ps where are the pics?

  • What a ride! One of the hardest I've had the pleasure of nearly killing myself on. Well done to everyone for making it as much fun as it was and to the people who had no excuse to not make it, you missed a good one.

    Where are the pic's?

  • +1. disgraceful we haven't got any pics to look at yet.

Oh hold on... I took some pics.

Er.... goes off to look for a lead
