wash it with Nikwax to waterproof it... sure it would work ya know
It'll be one of the cheap ones... £15 if it were printed... £20 because of the embroidery? It's just cotton, so it's not go any of the waterproof benefits of their £25 cap so they'd be hard-pushed to justify it for that price or above.

I've been on the Rapha site and some of their stuff looks pretty good, problem is it's very expensive. Anyone got any of their stuff? Is it worth the money??
-
• #1029
if you can afford them without hurting the bank, then I suppose it's worth the money, only certain item aren't worth paying that much like the silk scarf that cost a staggering £55.
-
• #1031
haven't a clue.
no-ones ever mentioned their stuff on this forum, maybe try Bike radar.
-
• #1032
if there is any doubt it is not worth the money for the image, then its clearly not for you..

I guess one item is affordable, but that's a massive sartorial faux pas, you need the full set really, and yes I'm afraid that does include the £50 silk handkerchief.

I know Rahpa comes gets some stick for their price of their kit. It is not cheap, that is for sure, so it might not be for everyone. But I take my hat off to them, they are totally committed cyclists. They have put their hands in their pockets in a very big way to sponsor a professional cycling team and they have been jointly responsible for brining the Smithfield Nocturne to London - neither of which are elitist in any way. I have got to know Luke and Simon over the last couple of years and I have seen how passionate they are. As a cyclist, I can't fault them. I wish there was more like them.

I'm waiting to try a win a prize in their Christmas Raphle - pink tickets, £10 a pop, little bit of prose about Good King Wenceslas and his De Rosa on the back.
-
• #1038
heh.
they might just do that now.nothing like having a pink ticket, after all.

I think its only worth buying if you get a serious discount - say at least 50% on their old stock, for example.
I bought a couple of items earlier in the year at a big discount and I am very happy with them -
• #1040
Are they at Cycle 2008? Ya might get discounts there?

Hmm, another thread that I'm going to have to ignore. HOLD ME BACK!!!

there are some stuff I like from Rapha, especially one which is the Bicycle Film Festival cap, that look rather nice and a reasonable price too.

I quite like the design/build of the rapha clobber and just bought their winter jersey. This is only because I got a load of Rapha vouchers from folk for my birthday...otherwise its out of my budget usually.

" " < whatever i said in the last 3 rapha threads.
i'm about to work out the optimum rapha thread interval it's currently at about 3 weeks but maybe it should be shortened to a biweekly event? -
• #1046
yeah, i was just thinking the same thing.
VB could set up an automatic thread post-bot, which could put up the rapha thread every second friday.
