Dear Dr Chan: I upset a couple of people when i first started posting 'here'. I regret that. I have a kind of tourette's I think (by way of mitigating my guilt). I hope I have done that less and less. I guess I thought 'so what its only the internet' but actually we're a pretty close-knight bunch of interconnected groups and individuals who hang out, ride, socialise, party, trade and talk about bikes with each other. In London. Where I live. And it has become pretty special to me. Had I known that back then (oooh, all of ten months ago), I wouldn't have posted the way I did.
I can imagine you may think something like 'what the hell I don't need any more friends I'm just here to look at pictures of bikes' or whatever your motivation is to be here... but I have to say I think 'friends' is a really flexible term and comes to represent all sorts of different levels of social contact, and my life would be bloody poorer for not having the balls to stay around here and actually got to know some people.
I hope you have a good time 'here'. I hope your initial contact with some here will one day look, to you, like the bullshit which it undoubtably does to most of us. Cheers if you actually read this. BTW Zeitgeist looks wicked, I want to see it.
Oct 1st-5th...Loads of great films...parties,roller racing, bicycle polo tournament....and all round cycling related fun bought to you by some of the most passionate and hard working people on the planet!
