OK, here's the update. I took everyone's advice, got the tools and did it myself. I'd be happy except for the chunks of powder coat taken off the rim (flying chain whip) and a stubborn BB lockring that means there's less paint on the frame then there used to be.
I'd never have thought that 1/17th less sprocket teeth would make so much extra work!
