Vegemite FTW you heathern Marmite lovers. I'm also partial to a bit of Promite but don't suppose I'll be finding that anywhere in the god-forsaken land.

I got a pot of this last year - imagine condensed Marmite! it is believed in the victorian times real men started their day with this spread on a slice of cold tounge and washed it down with a meat smoothie

never tried it, probably never will. I don't trust products where they even in their add say;
'you either love it or hate it'
if your not confident in your products that everyone should love it, don't sell it. -

Mmm mature cheddar + marmite toasty. That is my standard post ride snack.
I'll have to try that as I do like my marmite thick. The first time my girlfriend saw me with with marmite on toat she though it was chocolate spread.

if your not confident in your products that everyone should love it, don't sell it.it was a tag line designed to show that they are aware that there is a huge divide, nothing to do with confidence in the product

Chips and marmite!
**Marmite Chips** by chrisandmarkuk
from Birmingham Recipe Story
I was dieting a couple of years ago and missed my favourite potato wedges and chips. I was messing around with some ideas one day when I had the idea of using Marmite to coat some chipped potato to give my (diet) meals a bit of zing.
**Servings: **
Serves 2
**Level of difficulty: **Easy
Ingredients
250g potatoes, peeled and cut into chip or wedge shapes
1 tsp sunflower oil
2 - 3 tsp Marmite**Method **
Peel and chip the potatoes then par boil for 10 minutes in a large pan of salted water.
Preheat oven to Gas Mark 7.
Drain well and allow to steam for a few minutes; it's important to let them steam for a while to ensure a crispy end result.
Return the par boiled chipped potatoes to the dry pan and add the oil and Marmite.
Shake the pan for a few minutes until the chips are well coated in the oil and Marmite mixture.
Tip the chips onto a slightly greased baking tray and put in the oven for 25 minutes, turning after the first 10 minutes.
Enjoy with fish or on it's own as a snack!
Marmite, cheese and ketchup... Love it!
