  • We get namechecked in the latest CTC mag. They've got an article on fixed bikes in London and it categorises the different types of riders.

    Here's our crew:

    Hipsters
Many hipsters are students or in creative jobs like graphic design. They are to be found in the uber-fashionable Shoreditch area of East London, dressed in skinny jeans, with cut-down handlebars to match and a pair of candy-coloured deep-profile Velocity rims, mounted on fancy hubs. They even have their own fixed-wheel cycling forum: www.londonfgss.com
    Riding: bicycle polo, tricks competitions
Where to get the kit: Brick Lane Bikes
    Pretty accurate?

There's also one bloke in the article who says: "[I bought my fixie because] it goes with my Apple and Muji products" which made me laugh :-)

  • lol hipsters all of you!

  • nice that the whole forum is branded hipster

    cunts, they're getting some mail

  • Can we mount some kind a class action against them?

  • That, from a group of tree-hugging hippie tourers who obsess about panniers!

  • class action?

yeah fuck it,lets send Form 3B round to throw paper planes at them!

  • i would rather be hipster than hippie
although i am not trendy nor young enough to be a hipster

  • That's a bit raw. My rims are SILVER like a SWORD, not sweets!

  • ouch.

  • id say that all of the bike "tribes" they metion use lfgss, messengers, fakengers, hipsters, and i havent even heard of the last one, but im sure they are on here somewhere, "fraudax"

  • I think I might be a hipster. I work for a media company right near the Foundary, my jeans are pretty tight and those sunglasses I won the other day well....

  • that's a fairly accurate description of hipsters.
not an accurate description of the forum as there are a dozen or so non-hipsters on this forum.

You can, and do actually ride your bike though.

  • One Fraudaxer here :)
There was a good picture of Charlotte on her Custom Mercian in Richmond Park with the article.

  • despite what my mum says i'm pretty sure i'm not hip.

    can i be excused?

No way, you're a genuine adax man. Momentum, Skully and I are Fraudaxers, we like the style and practicality but not the pain and suffering.

  • What an absolutely stupid generalisation.... i give up, someone please join the ctc and educate them

  • but it's hip to be square -

    ok then.

  • apologies for the total randomness of that post but I think of that scene everytime I hear the word 'hip'

  • I quite like the fact we've made the magazine, it's funny. I couldn't care less what the forum has been classified as. After all they're only jealous because we are young and beautiful. :)

  • Speak for yourself Tommy :)

Rob... ignore the next four words.....kill, kill, kill, kill

  • "[I bought my fixie because] it goes with my Apple and Muji products"

    Oh snap!

  • nice that the whole forum is branded hipster

even more of a cunts to suggested that Brick Lane Bikes is the place to go to get your 'fixie' stuff.

No one said that. It was written by some cunt who was sweating over a deadline and entering 'fixie, hipster' into Google.
