i find if i put all my force back my rear wheel tends to bounce a bit, more so with my weight nearer to the saddle. the other thing with clips and straps/ clipless on fixed is keeping you on the bike, as its easy to slip off flat pedals while going down hill and spinning fast. and you get better power transfer with clipless, then clips.
