I'm wondering, old fruit(bat), what's wrong with the cable routeing in your opinion? They look a bit long to me, the steel one down to the derailleur as well as the brake outers.
I think the red feels right, its got a good authentic look about it.
Brake levers could have done with some hoods, or is it too old for them?
Mad how the the cable along the chainstay is so far from that curly tube!
