How about an illustration of a tangled up bike, like a dead spider, with 'TOO LATE' above it in caps?

i_am_russell, your image is practically a police forensics sketch of what happened at Southampton Row this morning. Its frightening.

None of these "I can't see you" or "Your in my blind spot" or "I'm a big truck" ideas really make sense if this is a spoke card on your (bike's) rear wheel.

I just copied this from the other thread as this one seamed more appropreat.
We could all circle town hall over and over again. Nice and peacfull. As it would affectively be a protest I think the meadia would turn up. Would be good to raise awarness. We will also need to make it clear that it is for all cyclests and not just SS and fixed. We could hand out spoke cards to other cycleists and prink a couple of large ones as banners.

"better to be late in this life than early in the next"

christ, someone has said that at least twice

I hate this softly softly approach, it's why all these people keep getting squashed under trucks.
Tell them what's up to their face and they'll soon realise.
How many "I can't see you if you can't my mirrors" stickers have you seen in your life? Thousands? Yet people still fuck about and they still get squashed...

ok, right. so we'll all walk around every day, stopping cyclists and explaining it to them.
nice one.

Yeah, I think maybe the swearing may be the way forward.

We have the option of handing some out in a face-to-face way.
Or, the cyclist returning to their parked bike will think, 'what's this that someone's taken the trouble of slotting between my spokes'. If we make it clear it's by cyclists for cyclists, it may have more impact than governement agency public service announcements.
BTW, I agree with avoiding swearing for the sake of appealing to a wider audience. Anyone that knows me will realise how much I'm putting my own sensibilities aside by saying this :)
Has anyone pointed Buffalo Bill in the direction of this thread/the Holborn thread yet?

Okay, I have.

So I noticed BB had posted on the other thread - I agree that letters to authorities and whatnot are necessary, but I think any initiative (in whatever form) contributes to the possibility of a change for the better. So let's keep going on the spokecard idea :)

Best idea by a mile. Add the usual one line advice underneath and make pretty.

Sod all these clever words, the thing that makes me think the most is:
2 dead in 2 weeks.
By the way I'm well up for the cycle to city hall... in fact I think it should include parliment square, city hall and blackfriars bridge.
Out of interest I think critical mass meet last friday of each month (ie this friday) on the south bank... I'm sure people at that would be all over this kind of campaign?
how about something more sombre and shocking, like a simple list of the names of cyclists killed by trucks in the last year?
