I like the idea of this alarmed lock. But the U shaped section doesn't look substantial, and thieves would attempt to go through it, then run as the alarm sounds. I'd rather someone made a lock that has a U section at least 16mm thick, so the alarm will have a secondary function; as I wouldn't want to replace a lock all the time that has only been tampered with.

When I saw the title of this thread, I imagined Lucy Lawless jumping out of a bush and beheading any little scumbags trying to steal your bike..

Looks OK. Problem with all alarms is that people don't really notice them, especially if they go off a lot for the wrong reason (say when a lorry goes past or another cyclist bumps their bike into yours whilst getting in or out of the racks). This one has a movement sensor which get tripped all the time like this.
Now what would be a LOT better is an electric shock one, that you could disarm remotely when you need to touch it. Now we're getting somewhere.
