Deal with it. At some times we are all pedestrians & even as cycliists although we are more aware we/ve all wandered into the road.

My mantra is all people are stupid some of the time. Watch out for peds & take evasive action - do what you can to avoid the oblivious but put yourself in their situation. Don't be a cunt - the worst thing is people stigmatising cyclists as the problem rather than cars.

the last thing I want to do is to cycle nearer to the offending pedestrians just to scare him a bit and knock some sense in him, with the chance that the peds might steps back into my path and might end up in hospital or worse, killed.

I only do that if there´s no way I can cycle away from him, usually a metre or more away from the pedestrians and an OI WATCH IT! is enough.
