  • Thought i'd revive this thread, Uni term started today... peace is shattered ;-) and i've already seen a green langster. So any Notts people lurking out there. We'll add my new Carlton 80's track frame to the tally.

  • Keep an eye out for me, seen the Langster a few times, if its the guy i think he never waves or anything, even when i'm riding my fixed.
Keep an eye out for me, hard to miss.
I did see someone on an old fixed today, lightish blue with full guards on going up Porchester road, red back wheel. Anyone on here?

  • count is now at 5 langsters at least... lecturer at uni, two guys in town, mystery brown one, student I saw today. No london version however. shame.

  • I live in West Bridgford and tend to ride around the uni and the city looking for hills and traffic so you might see alot of me (I'm not hard to miss 6'4", blonde fatlad on a green Langster.)

I've noticed an increase in the number of fixed wheels riding around, mainly Langster's (1 london) but have seen a couple of nice 80's style frames kicking about. As far as gears go I'm riding with 69gi and don't have any problems.

    -Gordo

  • Good stuff, will see you about! I've realised i'm on 86 gi, which i find painfull on the larger hills but not silly. But i'm debating dropping lower as it sounds like I should be spinning faster...

  • The oneon the brown never says hello either, or the one that goes up Porchester road that i have seen a few times.
One London one, a guy in Freewheel owns that one, i stood and laughed at that Wheelie Big Breakfast thing, they had it right at the front of the stand.
Theres a guy on a Brown Langster that lives in Lowdham, rides into Nottingham, that might be the lecturer person maybe?

  • Possibly, not sure what colour... sure he told me but I forgot.

i'm now at university, riding a turquoise graham weigh with silver deep v's, saw another fixed outside the built environment center earlier; white frame, bullhorns?

  • Joined. I'll look out for the Graham Weigh, I've got a GW frame in the office begging to be built up. Will get round to it eventually. Enjoy freshers fair, rammed today when I popped over.

  • I joined before on there. I'll keep an eye out for you all, but i think i am riding on the wrong side of Nottingham, or just not into the centre of Nottingham to see anyone really.

  • Get a picture up and tagged people.

I'm running 73" brakeless for now, seems pretty good, have to be pretty restrained downhill but i haven't had an opportunity as of yet to spin down anything anyway.

Puts my 65" with 2 brakes to shame really. I keep thinking of upping the gear, but after a long-ish ride on it, going up the big-ish hill to get home i have to honk up.

  • IMO if your on the roads you should be riding with breaks, if you want to hit the track you can remove your lever.. I can't imagine being in early morning rush hour without a front break at least.

  • And Jon on the group, great music taste. Listen to Lovvers - Notts based wipers and germs esq punksters.

  • I am planning on swapping out my fork for something drilled sometime, just need some money, but no close calls as of yet.

and thanks, seen Lovvers once before, got one of their 7"s, but I believe they have an album out now?

  • Or you could drill the fork, I doubt you'd find forks which would suit the colour... maybe chrome. Pop over to the engineering dept and we'll sort you out.

Lovvers have indeed an album "think" released next week, will be playing Notts in a fortnight and free gig at old blue last for the London goers tonight (I'll be there)

  • Hi,

I am in notts, riding a red chesini. if you see me around say hi!

    Anyone else thinking notts polo?

  • I'd be up for giving polo a go.

  • well we would need six of us!

i have never played but could be a giggle.

    any takers!

  • Theres either 10 or 11 on the fixed gear group on Facebook, must be some on there thats interested?
Could always ask some people in the cycle club i'm in, be a laugh to see some of them having a go.

  • I ' ll start looking out for materials for mallets etc

what's the group on face book called? are they all nottingham?

  • ^ none of those people are real ^

    .

  • Called Nottingham Fixed Gear i think. I'll keep an eye out for stuff aswell.
