Is it a coaster (pedal back brake) hub? These are generally very expensive to repair/replace. If you have the ability to fit a rim brake, then this would probably be a cheaper option. Is it a three speed hub as well? How is it broken?

Has the OPer actually confirmed its a coaster brake? Most bikes in holland have rim brakes, from what I saw on me hols recently. More likely to be a hub gear.

Hey thanks - I'm not sure how it's broken, but it has rod brakes not pedal back...and no gears I think...

If it's a single speed rear wheel you're after, for rod brakes you will need a westwood rim - is the original rim in good nick? Perhaps post a pic of the hub, if visibly broken. Have you already taken it to velorution? What did they say? how much did they quote? you could try kiwi cycles - http://www.kiwicycles.com/ or London Fields http://www.londonfieldscycles.co.uk/
This is Izzy - I don't know much about bikes....and I have an old fashioned ladies dutch style bike. The back wheel hub is broken, and needs replacing - does anyone know anywhere other than velorution that I can get it fixed today?
