@ murtle, nah, won't be out tonight, just got off the crutches in the house, yesterday, and headed up to Jos' today to look for a frame and I'm pretty walked out.
drink one for me with fiddy tonight and tell him to take it easy...
depending on how the leg feels, I may be on the bike next week, possibly the week after. So not sure whether I'll get to south or west beers next week... -

thanks cornball!
I think there might be a continuuuum that we all fall on (apart from the asbergers) between racer<=>rider.
Don't pursue technology for it's own sake ... word.
To remix Churchill, HG Wells and Albert Hoffman (hmmm... isn't it?) Ask not what you can do for your bike, but what it can do for you?

I broke rules one and two last night: felt bad for having a shorter run in the afternoon (day off, but I was really thirsty) then ate too much curry (vegetable curry but I still ate too much) so went for a short sharp spin, 3 laps of my local route, as fast as my little legs could
Don't judge me

+1 for point 5
I am runner as well as a cyclist and always have at least three pairs of shoes on the go:
Road (cushion + support)
off road (flex + grip)
winter (thick with strap-on spikes, ;-))My present bike ambition is:
Road (fixed)
off road (single speed MTN)
Winter (hybrid with studed tyres and powerful lights)Just need to win the lottery so I can quit work and gain loads more free time!

giving this a bump, riding back from the rapha sample sale with teenslain we got into discussion about the relative merits of having, or not having a trip computer, and I remembered this thread I'd posted up, and thought I would share the nuggets of common sense with those who have newly joined our wondrous forum...
enjoy..
I've seen this page in Brixton Cycles everytime I go in there, and everytime I want to write it down and keep it, as it encapsulates all that is good about riding and owning a bicycle. Today I wrote down where it is from threw it into google and low and behold, it is on the Mighty Sheldon Browns website. So I've decided to put it up for everyone, points five and six should gladden the hearts of many on this forum.
